Australian painter, Graham Gercken, mainly
self-taught he chose as the medium of oil paint and painted wet into
wet, which is an impressionist style and best suited for outdoor painting. Graham was born in Queensland Australia 1960, but was drawn to spend
most of his life in the "World Heritage listed" Blue Mountains west of
Sydney. This region with its natural beauty was Graham's inspiration to
become a Landscape Artist. He was most influenced by Sir Arthur Streeton and those of the Heidelberg school of artists. After 20 years of professional painting he has won many awards, including a number of first place, have sold-out exhibition at the Art Gallery prouds Sydney and has paintings in some of the most prestigious Art Galleries of Australia and the Korean consulate. Graham's work was presented to visiting dignitaries, sports people and is represented in private collections around the world.
